Some schools are denying that, but I guess we'll know the truth tomorrow. I happen to think it's probably true.

It was just 5 days ago where they vote to proceed and released schedules.  Not sure what would have changed their minds in just 5 days.  We shall see tomorrow.  Maybe the MAC dropping out made them re-think.

The Big Ten commish looks like an absolute clown right now.

There will be CFB this fall. The president supporting the players' movement yesterday pretty much confirms that.

Which leagues will or won't play is still up in the air.

I've heard that no P5 conference wants to be the first.  If they're the first, then players who want to play this year will jump into the transfer portal and transfer to another school.  The result being the last conference standing has all the players.

I believe the B1G voted the way it is being reported.  Now, they don't want to announce it until the other conferences are ready to announce.  It will be one big joint announcement so nobody gets to steal other schools' players.

Just a guess, but I'd put money on a joint announcement coming out soon.

If FBS conferences cancel fall sports across the board, it would simplify things, for certain.  But, if schools carry on academically (one way or another), will they expect the scholarship athletes to stay in school and attend class? A significant percentage, if not a majority, of scholarship football athletes are there to play football - they don't give a donkey's rear about academics. They are there to play two, maybe three, seasons and then put themselves in the NFL draft. They dang sure ain't going to class if they there isn't any football to play.
The NCAA may have to extend eligibility for a year. OK. That works for the sport, and works for those truly motivated student-athletes that may choose to stay in school for their education. But, will the schools allow the other 'student-athletes' that may not be so academically inclined to take a leave of absence and come back in the fall of 2021? On the other hand, if the scholarship football SA doesn't stay in school, what the heck is he gonna do for a year? Get a job?  LOL

I heard this a couple of days ago too, but with the information coming out the past day or so, I'm not sure all of the Power5 conferences are going to postpone the season.  If some postpone and some play, it could cause all kids of chaos with things (as Elvis mentioned) like the transfer portal and scholarships, etc. 

I've also heard some of the conferences are going to try to keep the officials as close to home as possible to reduce airplane travel.  If this is the case, I would like to see the conferences tell the coaches and ADs they are throwing out any conflicts for this year.  Let guys work places they played, attended, etc. just for this season to help reduce travel. That doesn't really impact me in the conference I'm officiating, but I'm sure there are a lot of officials out there that would love to work a game for their alma mater.

I never understood why that was so bad when the signal (according to the mechanics manual) for the deeps to use when counting 11 defensive players is the  :thumbup.  That's "Gig 'Em Aggies", right?  Why is one ok but not the other?

There’s 65 power 5 schools, each with 85 scholarships. 5525 scholarship athletes give or take. 224 picks in the draft. 4% end up being a draft pick (if ALL draft picks came from a power 5 school, they dont). It’s not a significant percentage.

In general they don’t give a donkeys rear about academics because their “compensation” is based on their football performance. The overwhelming percentage though will need a job outside of the NFL after school.

It sucks, but I understand why administrators are making the decisions that they are. If no football until the spring is what it takes to keep people safe, then we'll just have to play the waiting game.

I also understand why they are making the decisions they are making, but I wish they would follow the lead of the Big XII, ACC, and SEC with a "let's wait and see and gather more data before making a final decision" strategy.  They have pushed the season back a few weeks and will get a lot of data in the next couple of weeks with students returning to campuses.  If the data shows it's not feasible, I'm sure they will make that decision at that time.
