Indiana vs Penn State 2 pt conversion video

Indiana took Penn State to overtime and went for a 2 point conversion to win the game.

How would U call it?

Is the fact that the runners hand is below the ball and contacts the ground, but no other part of his body does until the ball strikes the pylon, part of ur analysis?

Can't tell, interesting that the pylon moves east-west, so there is a chance the ball broke the plane before touching the white.

In my humble opinion it appears the ball touches the white just before contacting the pylon. Based on that the Try is no good. Now in real-time virtually impossible for an official to see and process that.  But I would have thought reply could, given they can slow it way down.

True that contacting the pylon would make it a score, but it does not have to touch the pylon before the back of the ball touches the white, the front of the ball just needs to brake the plane of the goalline before touching the white.

No dog in this hunt. But, that is about the most micro-close action as we will ever see. Yeah, it is possible the nose of the ball broke the pane of glass of the front edge of the goal line a micro-second before the mid-section of the ball touched the ground OB.
Do we want officiating to be that precise? That is the question that is being debated at levels much higher than us.

The above is well said.  To quote Mr. Lombardi, "Perfection is NOT attainable, but if we chase perfection , we can catch excellence." Situations THIS CLOSE, I'm willing to accept that Replay Officials have far better viewing capabilities than my PC (or eyesight).

My understanding of the requirement to REVERSE a call, is it must be clear & convincing. What I saw would NOT support that conclusion.
