Coaches Communication Devices
« on: November 01, 2020, 08:45:14 PM »
If one teams communication devices with their Coaches in the press-box become inoperative during the game is there any requirement that the other teams communication devices have to be turned off?

I don't think so, based on NCAA rules review and a quick glance through the current UIL exceptions but thought I'd pose the question here to get feedback.

Thanks.

From the Mechanics Manual:

Coach to Coach Communication System:
 This is not covered by the rules, and the officials are not involved.
 If one team’s communication goes down, the officials may notify the other Coach, however, there is no rule of Equity and no obligation for the other team to put theirs
down unless there is a district rule.

Perfect, thanks folks. I forgot to check the TASO mechanics manuals.

Much appreciated.
