A 2/10 from the A-30 yard line.  QB rolls out toward the sideline and throws the ball forward from the A-25.  The ball touches B50's helmet at the A-26 and the ball lands at the A-27 yard line with no eligible Team A players in the area. What is ruling?

It's hard to imagine that the pass wasn't going to make it five yards downfield and the rule is about the the throw not what happens to it afterward.  So I guess there are two ways you could not have nothing here.  1 you believe that the ball wasn't getting to the los anyway; in that case I think you probably have a defensible call but the helmet it hit would have to be pretty near the grass for the physics to work.  2, you think the rule requires the ball to successfully get to the line of scrimmage and b knocking it down takes away the exception.  A literal reading could get you that, but I'm not buying it.

Remember, to consider intentional grounding there has to be pressure on the passer.  If he just rolls out without any pressure, and throws the ball, then you have nothing.  With that said, AR 7-3-2 VIII would be similar to your question.
