One for the books - girl’s softball
« on: April 17, 2026, 10:45:23 PM »
I’m watchin’ local sports on TV, and they are showing high school (girl’s) softball. In the middle of the game, one team has bases loaded, and the batter hits a ball in the gap, all the way to the wall. The ball gets misplayed a bit, and the batter-runner scores without a play being made on her or any runner - inside the park (ITP) home run. Not unheard of, but a highlight, any time it happens.
9 batters later, in the same half-inning, the same batter that hit the ITP home run, again, has bases loaded, and hits the ball deep in the gap, all the way to the wall. Once again, the ball gets misplayed a bit, and the batter-runner scores - ITP. TWO BASES LOADED ITP’s BY THE SAME PLAYER IN THE SAME INNING.
Don’t know how many times that has happened, but it can’t be very many. Now that’s a lifetime memory.

Thought I’d share.

dang, was that in Texas?

Keep in mind too, softball is played under strict timing rules, which makes it even more impressive.

Saw where to I believe Louisiana schools playing girls softball, ended 55-44 with only 12 hits in game. Hit batsmen, walks, wild pitches, errors etc.
