Highly recommend the wearing of the U.S. Flag.
I've been told that the gold border is supposed to be reserved for military. Strongly recommend the white border - matches our uniforms better, anyway. Also strongly recommend the stars on the left, and sew it above the left breast pocket (although I can't remember the exact dimension above - 1" or 1 1/2".
If you choose to wear it on a sleeve, be sure the stars are forward, as though the flag is waving in the breeze as you move forward (i.e., as the soldiers 'advance'). So, get the correctly oriented flag for the specific sleeve.
And do the flag the justice of having it sewn on - not glued of velcroed.
Hi all, I'm just trying to get a feel for what most people do with regards to wearing an American flag patch on your officiating uniform? Our H.S. association is wresting with the issues of (1) whether or not to have the white or gold border around the flag, and (2) whether or not to place the patch on the left sleeve or above the pocket.
I know, I know, we should be arguing about other issues, but alas, this is where we're at.
Any thoughts? Thanks!
