TXMike or someone.  With around 10 mins. left in the 3rd qtr. there was a flag thrown by the U for a false start.  Line judge comes running in and call was changed to defense offside.  I'd like to see that again if someone can post the video.

False start. The B player wasnt a) in the neutral zone and b) not close enough to the A player to have drawn him to move.

Same official had a similar call in the Texas earlier this season.

I'd agree that this is not offside by B.  The B player who "moves early" does not encroach in the NZ, and the A player who moves is not by rule a threatened player.  Can't the U help out here with some advice if the wing officials think that the B player actually did enter the NZ?

Is this a typo or is it just too early up there?  How is it offside by B?

Same official had a similar call in the Texas earlier this season.

I remember the earlier one as well from that Texas game.  I think it is posted on refstripes as well.

Looks like the DE is more than 4-5 yards outside of the G who reacts.

There is speculation in the first post that the Big12 may have a little different philosophy on this type of play.

I think Grant is right, it's a Big 12 philosophy over riding an actual rule.  When the defense moves and offense reacts, stick the defense with offside.  Watch a lot of Big 12 games and this is a common occurrence.
