Santa kicks rules too!
« on: December 25, 2012, 10:05:54 AM »
Gee, even Santa Claus doesn't know 1-2-5-b!  Well perhaps I revealed what he does in his off-season while elfs are building toys.  It appears as though he officiates at the fed level.  Wife gives me a book for Christmas book titled "Stocking Sumpers: An Elfish Assortment of Quizzes" by S. Claus

True or False:  The goalposts are the same width in both college and professional football.

Answer:  "False - College uprights are much wider: 23 feet 4 inches apart vs. 18 feet 6 inches in the NFL."

Oh really Santa?   ^no It's OK pal.  My girls received some very nice presents and they are thrilled you are sending them to Hawaii.  Rule 1 is just as important as the rest.

Merry Christmas everyone!  Have a wonderful and safe holiday season.

Cheers!

He got confused with NFHS.

However I never knew there was a difference before now.

For every coach that thinks we got it wrong there's another that thinks we got it right.

I guess Santa has forgotten about the 1990 rule change :)

Gives Fed kickers a little more latitude. And even some of them have trouble at that width!  ;)

Skill level, basically.

Now, why all 3 levels have 3 different locations for the hash marks I'll never understand.

They all started out at the wider width (which was chosen because of the standard length of the lumber used), and the NFL then NCAA eventually narrowed them to tighten up the difficulty.
