Last year we had a representative from a donor organization come to our meeting and ask us to sign up as bone marrow donors. There was an overwhelming positive response from the membership. I just found our that one of our members has been asked to donate. He will be saving the life of a 55 year old woman. I would like to use this forum to publicly thank him for his service.
To any other chapters out there, contact someone in your area to see about signing up, it is a real service, and almost all of your members would fit the requirements to be a donor. This is a vitally needed service.
