« on: September 02, 2016, 08:55:36 AM »
What number do you charge a delay of game foul to on team A? QB/Kicker? I have heard Rs announce that number on TV but cant find anywhere where it is 'written'

Thanks

I've seen them announce the quarterback's number, but most often I've seen them not announce any number, that it's just delay of game against the offense. Hope that helps.

Not every foul needs a specific number associated with it. Illegal substitution, illegal formation, delay of game, etc. are all fouls I don't announce a number for. They are essentially "team" fouls. The team had more than 11 in the formation, the team had more than four in the backfield, the team didn't put the ball in play quick enough...you get the point. Another example would be sideline interference. With coaches now subject to disqualification for 2 UNS's, they made it clear that SLI is a team foul and does not count toward the specific person's two UNS fouls.
