Clock status after foul
« on: October 20, 2018, 05:51:36 AM »
Team A has the ball clock running. QB throws an interception to B-20 where he is tackled inbounds.  During the down, there is a defensive holding foul accepted by Team A.  We enforce the penalty which gives Team A a first down. What now is the status of the clock?

Without the foul, team B would have had the ball and we would have stopped the clock to award them a new series and the clock would have started on the snap.

However, the penalty negated the awarding of a new series to B. Instead, the clock was stopped to administer the penalty, which resulted in a new series by A. Because there was not a major clock stoppage, the clock will start on the ready after we award A a new series.
