The 2020 Mechanics Training Clinic for Football Officials, sponsored by the South Plains Chapter - Texas Association of Sports Officials - Football Division, will be conducted on Saturday, May 16, 2020, 8 am - 4 pm, at the state-of-the-art Football Training Facility and Indoor Practice Facility, Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas.
This clinic is for all officials desiring to learn football officiating mechanics, including fundamental individual techniques and advanced crew officiating and coordination concepts. The basis of instruction is the TASO Manuals for Crews of 3, 4, 5, and 7 Officials (with reference to the CCA manual, as appropriate). Focus will be on crews of 5 officials, but with additional drills specifically designed for crews of 7.
Cost = $50 pre-registration, $55 on-site. Includes light breakfast and lunch.
Two hours of classroom training in the Team Room of the Football Training Facility, then on-field training in the Indoor Practice Facility.

Unless hereafter prohibited by Texas Tech University, this clinic will go on, despite the ongoing national health concerns. Precautions will be taken to limit/eliminate physical contact between participants.
WE REGRET TO REPORT THAT, DUE TO THE ONGOING NATIONAL HEALTH CRISIS, THIS CLINIC HAS BEEN CANCELED. We hung on, and held out, as long as we reasonably could. But, with the Big XII canceling virtually all spring athletic activities - period - we did not want to put Texas Tech in a position of having to deny permission for us to use their facilities, even if federal/state/city/ restrictions are lifted by the date of the clinic. So, we simply opted to cancel.
