There has been a lot of discussion on the new interpretation regarding the "foremost" position of the ball when a runner goes OB on the sideline... Rule 4-2-4-d

Here is a beautiful example of this rule.  Forward Progress On The Sideline

The runner goes OB, short of the LTG.  In this play (although not seen on the clip) the L spotted the ball one yard beyond the LTG because he first touched OB beyond the stick.

The new interpretation says that forward progress is where the ball crossed the side line if he does not step on the line...

Good point... there's been a lot of chatter on this issue lately, and a contrary ruling was touted a few months ago...
the spot given on the video (and the rule interpretation behind it) has now been rejected for 11 by the commissioners...hence the "new" interp (although many officials have been calling it this way for years).

Just remember, the game is played inbounds.
