I went and watched my grandson play a 7th grade game tonight. There were 2 tackles made where team B grabbed the ball carrier inside the collar and pulled them down immediately. The team A coaches all were wanting a HC call but the white hat yelled at them saying that the ball carrier wasn't pulled down backwards so it wasn't a HC tackle. I know what the rule says and I pulled it up on my phone to read it again and no where does it say anything about having to be pulled down to the back. Is/was there an approved ruling saying this or am I just missing something?
