My daughter hit the dreaded dating age. Obviously no boy is good enough for my daughter.
Each night out…on her return home, there is Dad. Reading the baseball rule book, one light on over the breakfast dining room table. Arrive, before curfew, all is well. Good night and head to each bedroom for the night. This goes on for months.
Finally, one night, she comes in and walks up to the table.
“ Dad, you don’t have to wait for me each night.”
“ Oh, yes I do.”
“ Then, you don’t trust me.”
I put the book down and looked up.
“ It’s not you I don’t trust. It’s guys like me.”
She leaned over, kissed me on the fore head and said “ Now I understand.”
But, I learned the rule book real well.
