I was around until the pandemic hit. VA did the 2020 “fall” season in the spring of 2021, but with an immunocompromised wife, I wasn’t comfortable working, so I took the spring off. When things started getting back to normal in 2021, I was one of two team members left of a team of 30 or so, and pulling 55 hour work weeks routinely, so it couldn’t happen. Similar in 2022, where it was about half the team back, but still too short staffed.
My boss let slip that she thinks I’ll be able to get on the field this fall, and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve been trying to stay up to date on the Facebook chats, and I have a general idea of the rules changes the last few years, but I know there’s some adjustment. I was very glad to see that Refstripes is still around, and a lot of the “old heads” are still here.
Now, to work off all the weight that three years of inactivity has given me…. I know o need to get into shape, and I’m guessing that “round” isn’t the shape that would apply…
