How does your crew

handle the teams at the end of the half when they go into the locker rooms.  For example on my crew the FJ walks the home team to the locker room and the SJ walks the visiting team to the locker room.

If they go different directions we let them go. If they need to use the same gate or opening, then we hold the one team up who is further away until the other team gets though. We just put a couple of bodies in the way.

At our field, both teams exit out of the same end of the stadium, and walk a path to the locker rooms.  Officials will hold the visitors, and let the home team leave first.  A couple of officials will walk up the path with the teams to the point where they separate.  Thankfully, we have never had a problem.  In fact, in many cases, the slow guys our our team wind up intermingling with the first guys on the visitors and they wind up talking to each other.

Coming back, they reverse the process.  The officials come to the locker room to get us for the second half.  If one team is on the path, they hold the the other one until the first one passes.  It once caused us to be late to the field, but the officials with us told the R, and it was no big deal.

Of course, coming back, it's never an issue for me.  Kickers come back early to warm up ahead of everyone else.  Our biggest problem are the schools with big bands!

We do same as Younggun.  Only time we had a problem was a stadium where both teams exited in south endzone.  First half ended on about the two yard line in north end of stadium. As soon as play ended both benches hustled towards their gate easily getting there before we could.   By time we got down to far end both teams had intermingled and words were being exchanged but luckily nothing physical.  Other than pre-arranging that either home or visitors were to stay on their sideline I'm not sure how to avoid this.

Yes that should be discussed with the coaches during the pregame conference. Generally you'd allow the team closest to the gate to exit first while the other team waited.

We send two officials with each side - the F and L have the team on the L's side, and the B and S have the team on H's side.  Going and coming.

If the teams both exit different sides, or one team goes to the end zone on one side while the other team exits the field on the other side, no need to go with them.
