Excellent job, 'Bama' . Bear is # 1 in Arkansas with the caption : "Four states could claim him".Aaron was # 1 with Bo Jackson # 3. Jesse Owens was # 1 in another state. Hint: round on both ends and hi in the middle.
They probably wouldn't allow Georgia to claim Hank Aaron. That would leave Ty Cobb and Herschel Walker.
Davey Crockett for TN. (?)
What sport did Davey play?
Hatchett and knife throwing, Olympic sports in the 18th and early 19 centuries.
Cindy Blodgett comes to mind.
WAG...Magic Johnson or my choice (a blast from the past) - Olympic Speed Skating champion Terry McDermott - both born in Michigan
North Dakota (where I'm from) was probably Roger Maris. More recent Daren Erstad or Travis HafnerIndiana (where I live) was probably Larry Bird. I like that choice.
I'll jump on your hint for Owens- Ohio.
And Bobby Jones.
I misspoke in my previous post - Tennessee's first two athletes are also women.
Davey was indeed a very accomplished athlete. However, he is technically ineligible to be considered as the greatest 20th centuryathlete from Tennessee. How about Wilma Rudolph? Great job, Prab, you nailed it. Tennessee & Maine are the only two states with the 1st 2 being females. Who's Tennessee's #2???
Louisiana - Mel Ott, Bert Jones, Shaq
REPLY: Wow...NJ has a few to choose from. How about one of these:1. Carl Lewis2. Rick Barry3. Derek Jeter...or maybe4. Franco Harris
How about Wilma Rudolph and Pat (Head) Summit?
You nailed it
I'm not a Tennessee fan by any means but I've met Pat and she is first class all the way. I have the utmost respect for the lady.
