We had a referee in our association tell a coach he couldn't approve more than 5 game balls per team..
He still hasn't told us where he got that idea...

I'm aware of a local association in a certain state that is also putting that garbage out. In writing no less. Only their limit is six. Big Man in Charge tries to interject NCAA rules into the mix as often as he can.
