Player entered during kick return

Had an odd one this past Friday night.

During the return of a free kick we had a member of K leave the bench area and come on the field with his helmet in his hand. After which R fumbled and K recovered. The helmetless player came all the way to the pile.

My HL flagged him for IP and we administered it from where R lost the ball (end of the run). First and 10 for R.

Had a school a long time ago that did that as a planned play.  After the kick was away and down field, two extra K players would slip onto the field and participate.  They got away with it for most of the season before someone caught onto the plan.  A review of old game films showed they did it in all their previous games.

If this one hadn't had his helmet off I don't think we'd have caught it.
