offensive holding in the endzone
« on: August 14, 2023, 06:26:19 PM »
I thought i had it but now I am not sure.   If we have a holding in the endzone by A on a loose ball play is it an automatic safety, or with the rule change just marked off from the previous spot?

2nd and 10 from the 5. A-11 drops back to pass A-55 holds B 5 yards deep  in the endzone.

It?s still a safety.

?The basic spot is the spot of the foul when A commits any foul in his end zone for which the penalty is accepted.?

Be careful of using  ?it?s an automatic safety?. It is not automatic. The penalty has to be accepted.  In some cases the other team might decline the safety.
