My wife is pretty handy with a sewing machine, so for about $2 my shorts can be modified.  Not sure I'll be doing this long enough to buy another pair of shorts I only wear 5 times a year.  Just as long as they don't take away my sunglasses for sv games.  Oooops, um, I mean, my prescription eye protection...

I was told that if you did not like the striped shorts to contact your district director and voice your opinion.

I'm thinkin' this is the pre-game conference for four separate games, and it is the first games of their careers for two of those guys, and one just came out of retirement.

Saw the Honig's shorts at our clinic yesterday. To be fair to them, the shorts are finished and are not just their pants cut off. I still went and purchased what I needed, including a pair of Smitty shorts, from one of the other vendors.

I also finally got to meet TXMike between his rule sessions where he was moonlighting as a lion tamer. :)

Looks to me like a flag game, which i can personally attest to, often uses players from the flag teams to also officiate. In the leagues i've help run and play in, a lot of times it was like "oh crap, we only have one official for this game, call one of the guys from another team to get a shirt on."
