One game changed chapters and filled in the one I wasn't sure of.  This should be fairly accurate.

Assuming he is being honest his motivation appears to be constituent rural districts who fear the added expense.  Perhaps for smaller schools playoffs are not automatically a money maker

Tyler has yet another 6A championship game. What does that chapter keep doing to get the biggest games every championship week!

That Chapter has had 1 6A and 1 5A game the entire playoff season.  Apparently that is the formula...make sure you do not work the schools in the early weeks of the playoffs so you are then eligible for the Champ week.   ;D

Not tying to steal txdoc job but this was sent to me by a friend who is an assigning secretary in a smaller chapter.

Allen/cy ranch Austin
Cedar hill/Katy Tyler
Aledo/trample Houston
Cedar park/Ennis Dallas
Navasota/argyle Houston
West orange stark/gilmer houston
Minneola/ Cameron Houston
Waskom/Newton Tyler
Canadian/mason Fort Worth
Albany/bremond don't know

At least 4 straight years Tyler has had 2 games.

Is it the same crew from Tyler that has done the previous state championships? Why why why?

A crew gets to do 2 state championships in the same year and has done a state championship for how many years now.  Rutherford is loved by coaches apparently.  Absolutely absurd for one crew to do all those games.  If I was a member of the Tyler chapter and in the top however many crews, I'd quit and move to East Texas or something.

That is a question the Tyler guys should be asking.   If they don't care then why should we?

The why is pretty easy.  Reputation that leads to coach's request.

10 games in 11 weeks.

And someone will do the math but it's a bit more than 1/2 the teams make the playoffs.

Actually, now that I think about it, PA has a similar amount of teams if you count district playoffs.  There are 16 teams in each classification that make the playoffs in our district, so it works out to be the same.  9 or 10 game regular season depending on where you live

Perception does not necessarily equal reality.  Almost 20% of the active current membership in Tyler has title game experience with most of those having worked multiple games.  The fact is that the top "however many crews" all realize that in any given year they have a good shot because they are in Tyler.  It doesn't happen every year for every crew but at least it does happen.

I agree with you and know others in that chapter have had the experience...but how many state championships has Kyle Rutherford had now???  Congrats to the guy, but it just leaves a bad taste in a lot of people's mouth I'm sure.  He's racking up the games.  This will be at least number 5 and 6.
