Shaw can say “It’s not about game length, it’s about number of exposures” all he wants, but it really is about game length.  Otherwise, why involve the TV networks?

Protect players, my hiney. TV wants that golden 3-hour window per game. That's all it is.

Cutting back those 20:00+ halftimes would help.

Heck, just mandate a certain number of plays a player can participate in before a substitute has to be made.
