WE did a game years ago. Friday Night, Clearwater High School .....Gulf to Bay BLVD.

Every member on the crew was a Viet Nam River Boat Navy Vet. Longest service time for the group seven months, River Boat crews suffered tremendous losses.

We have a huge flag on the north endzone pole beside Gulf to Bay.

A huge flag going up the pole in the south endzone.

Honor Guard in front of the home team bleachers......The military brat asks .....

"OK, what flag as we supposed to watch while placing our hands over our hearts?"

One the crew says ..... "Honor Guard is called that for a reason ......stupid military brat, thought your Dad would have taught you better."

The entire crew was still laughing when we broke for the kickoff.

Just a gentle reminder of  Veteran's Day and it's origin.....

1914 : Babe Ruth joined the Red Sox and Archduke Ferdinand was assassinated in Serbia. Huns (Germany, Astro-Hungary & Ottoman Empire) declaired war .

April 6, 1917 : After German sinking of HMS Lusitania with 100+ American lives lost and our then version of CIA learning of Germany's plot of luring Mexico to attack or southern borders,President Wilson declaired war

November 11, 1918 : The Hun white flag of surrender echoed the end of The Great War and the birth of ARMISTICE DAY.

A GREATER WAR WAS TO FOLLOW A COUPLE OF DECADES LATER AND VETERANS DAY REPLACED ARMISTICE DAY HONORING AND REMEMBERING ALL VETERANS OF ALL WARS.....
