2 USP or 2 PF ejection
« on: September 08, 2022, 09:58:08 AM »
If a player receives his 2nd USP in the 2H and is ejected, does he sit the 1H of the next game?

There is no ejections for multiple person fouls.  A kid could have 20 of them in the game and there is no ejection.   The only time a personal foul leads to a kid being ejected is if one is a flagrant personal foul and it only takes one.

As far as sitting out the next game or half, that's not something we are involved with and should not be telling the coach because some districts have their own rules.  You might be aware of a player that got ejected and then the next game he is playing, but we aren't involved in that.  We have no jurisdiction in that matter.

Gotcha... So, what about 2 USPs in the 2H...Does he sit the 1H of the next game? Or is this a coach/district decision?

Coach district decision. If a coach protests or complains about someone on the other side that he thinks should not be playing, refer him to the game administrator to hug it out.  We should offer no opinion or information to anyone involved in this, except to refer them to game administration.

As Jason alluded to, decisions or conversations regarding a player sitting out any future game is not for us to discuss with coaches, administrators, etc.  If you eject a player for multiple UNS's (assuming that's what you mean by saying USPs) you simply need to make sure you specifically notify the head coach at that time who's ejected, and why, and then make damn sure you do a very detailed incident report as soon as possible.  After that it's no longer in our jurisdiction to comment.  The worst thing someone can do is tell a coach inaccurate information regarding an ejection and what you believe to be accurate information and be wrong.  That leads to huge problems.

Just remember that, in UIL football (unlike NCAA), a disqualified or ejected or player does not have to leave the playing enclosure. They may remain in the team area.

USP is not an NCAA foul acronym. Assume you mean UNS. Foul acronyms can be found in the TASO and CCA mechanics manuals.
