Looking at the pictures, I realized that I know this crew. I think they'll need a special award at the end of this season for this one.

I wonder if the Public Integrity Unit in Austin is available to look into this one? 

They probably are out drinking with the constable.

I would invite him to pee or get off the pot.  If you want to make a criminal case and cuff the kid...get after it.  As soon as you are done, we are gonna mark off 15 and play ball...and you will be busy booking a kid while we finish!

I hope he was talking about the penalty for the orig foul and not some perceived foul by the constable.  The constable is not one of the "persons subject to the rules" so no penalty against either team for his actions would be justified IMHO.

I read the article and felt that the crew had a foul on the player who was on top of the other player...so that is the 15 yards I was referring to.  No...wouldn't flag the constable, but I would try to get him off the field.

I talked to one of the officials in the game last night.  He said that the penalty that they assessed on Barney was a 5 yard DOG, since he came off Team X's sideline and was not there in any official capacity (which they did ask him several times  ).  The 15 yard penalty that was talked about was for the foul on the play that was called and was the same thing that got Barney hunting for his bullet.  Remember, don't shoot the messenger.

They really did not assess the penalty on Barney, they had to assess it on 1 of the 2 teams, neither of which had any control over Barney. Lesson learned hopefully.
