Catch Definition - elements that make a catch?

Good Evening,

I am having a hard time finding the definition of a catch for high school.  On top of that does high school have any elements that make up a catch such as having firm control, doing something common to the game etc, ?

2-4-1 defines a catch.  The player must contact the ground inbounds with possession or forward progress stopped with possession.  Act common to the game is not an element in NFHS.

2022 NFHS Rules Book
"A catch is the act of establishing player possession of a live ball which is in flight, and first contacting the ground inbounds while maintaining possession of the ball or having the forward progress of the player in possession stopped while the opponent is carrying the player who is in possession and inbounds."

The above is the definition of a catch for NFHS.
This is the only guidance provided by the Rules Book.
