If a free kick goes OOB does the receiving team get to pick where they want to put the ball in place between the hash marks or do they have to take the ball at the hash marks where it went OOB

No choice.  The ball will be spotted at the near hash mark after penalty enforcement.

"The Inbounds Spot" is the near hash.

While 'Bama and Lawdog are correct, there are seven times that a captain or coach has a choice. Who can name 'em the quickest......

Without looking it up here's what I can come up with:

1.  Following a touchback
2.  Following a fair catch
3.  Following an awarded fair catch
4.  On the try following a TD
5.  On the 1st play in a series during "extra time" (OT)
6.  Spot for a free kick

It's easy to get the players, getting 'em to play together, that's the hard part. - Casey Stengel

Great job, Ump, the book lists 'kickoff' and 'after safety' seperately; but the judges (me & ma' hunting dawg) give you the  aWaRd !

Regulation play coin toss: To defer their first choice to the second half? Designate which team shall kickoff? Select which end of the field to defend? To accept or decline a penalty? At the extra period coin toss: to designate which team shall put the ball in play? To select which end of the field on which the extra period will be played?

Most importantly for coach: get his butt off the field or get flagged?😳
