After a touchdown, the scoring team's coach wants to spot the ball for the PAT on the left hash. Can the U honor the coach's request?

...And if there was a  ^flag on the play, with the PAT being retried, that choice would still be avaliable.

not only can you, it is expected.  They can decide where to put it.  Ask as soon as they score.
