I love it.  Not only does he not know the rules (nothing uncommon about that), but he's trying to make up rule changes that never happened!   LOL

Who blew that one? Was it the R, as she had the responsibility for the runner at that moment?

And somehow I am totally missing the wing during that play. The only officials that are near the action at the end of the play are the R and the U.

Gut says R blew but absence of H is perplexing. Even if he thought ballwas still live wouldn't he get back in line with the action? If he had blown surely he would have dropped back to "dead ball" spot. The "offended" team self destructed after that play. Mistakes happen, but When a team faLls apart after a ref's mistake, that is on the team not the crew.

I don't think that came from R. If it did, it would have been called for forward progress/grasp, ball dead ... and the R woulda blown the hell outta the whistle. I wanna say it was the U, here.

Either way, horrible error.

Did you hear the whistle?  Seems if the big ole U had blown it we would have heard it.  I'm going with the smaller R, or the phantom H

He's getting his rules knowledge from Sunday football, where they did make such a change.

If the whistle blower had made it a big blow, he could make a case for forward progress stopped. The QB was driven back for 2 steps before the ball came loose.

Translation: If ya gotta chocolate whistle, ya may as well blow the thing hard once you've *&@#*@&ed up.

If you blow it, blow it hard. That way everybody knows you made an honest mistake.

If you blow it just a little, everybody knows that you were not sure in the first place.
