Chicken S Move?

So I hear about a situation in my old chapter.  Yesterday, a White hat and BJ decide that they're going to quit and move to a neighboring chapter and crew.  They do this prior to a season in which they were drafted for double digit games.  On top of this, they move to a crew headed up by their "old" white hat who was the former president of that chapter and old district director, who didn't seek re-election because he was ready to retire.  Basically they left their crew and chapter is a tight spot.

I find it interesting that there can be so much politics in a venture that's supposed to be about the kids.

I thought TASO had policies against this. If you pay dues to a chapter you are stating you are working for that chapter for the year. The new chapter they are moving could and should block their transfer. Just my opinion.

Chicken S move I agree.

There are way too many officials in this state that would sell their mama for the right game.  For them, "doing it for the kids" means taking the family to supper once their big check arrives.

There are way too many members in this state who believe that their self worth in life is calling as many high school varsity football games as humanly possible.  This is a great avocation, but enough is enough.  If you really want to go call games every day I am sure there are some jr hi games near by.  My self worth in life and my self worth as an official will never be about calling as many games as possible.  Enjoy the games you have and if you do not have a game that weekend go play with your kids/grand kids/great grand kids.

Do you guys really think there are that many who want the "big game" because of the check?   I agree that there are many who want the "big game" each week.  Call me naive buit i don't think it is because of the check they will get.  I think they just want to be in "the game."

These guys I mentioned in the original post are looking for the big game, the problem with that chapter is that they think higher classifications equated to "bigger game".  These guys would chase crappy big schools instead of the chapter's bread and butter, the 2A school, all because of what they believed was the better product.  It was crazy since the smaller school and the games they played were twice as competitive.

What bugs is me is how, as a man, you can make a commitment to a crew and to a school via a draft, and then duck out a week before scrimmages start.

Kinda reminds me of the politician that suddenly is a "resident" of a area he is running for office... FlAg1
