Adjustments to Approved Rulings

ADJUSTMENTS TO APPROVED RULINGS

Below are adjustments to several Approved Rulings. Please note that these are
included in the pdf version of the 2013 and 14 Rules and Interpretations posted on this
site.

AR 3-3-9-II on FI-13.
The last sentence of the RULING should read: "However, A22 may remain in the game if Team A takes a timeout."

AR 9-1-6-IV on FI-53
First sentence of the RULING should read: "Illegal block below the waist because it is too much to the opponent's side and because it is directed toward the original position of the ball." Remainder of the Ruling is unchanged.

AR 9-1-6-VII on FI-53
Add a sentence to the RULING so that it reads in its entirety: "Legal block as long as the force of the initial contact is at the front within the ‘10-to-2 o’clock’ region and is not toward Team A’s end line. If A22 is in motion at the snap, his block is illegal if it is toward the original position of the ball."

AR 9-3-3-IX on FI-60
Opening sentence should read: "A12 takes the snap and retreats to pass."

AR 10-2-2-VIII on FI-65
Ruling should read: "Penalty--10 yards. Subject to postscrimmage kick enforcement if Team B is next to snap the ball."

What I'm curious about, is how the changes to the rules are managed. I believe this is the 2nd time in 2 years that elements are changed after the print (last year with the IBW rules). I think it should be possible to prevent this. Or am I the only person thinking this way?  :)
