Superbowl False Start / Offsides
« on: February 02, 2015, 09:21:25 AM »
At the end of the SB after the interception when seattle jumped offsides did the center not bob his head, not once but twice.  Shouldn't this be a false start?  Looked pretty intentional to me as they both correlated with 72 jumping.

With the prevalent silent count that is normal center movement, the defense should not react to it.

Very possibly an intentional act considered a FST

We'll agree to disagree. IMO the 2 head bobs were significant and deliberate attempts to draw the defense into the NZ.

They probably were, and I don't remember if NE uses the silent count ever. But I think my point still stands, this movement is common in the NFL and should be considered normal center action.

looks to me like SEA lined up in the neutral zone to begin with.

Ball was not snapped so lining up in the zone is not a foul. The only things to consider are did A's movement bring them over or did B's movement bring them up.

I'm a member of Patriot Nation. I felt the head bobbing constituted a false start. I'm glad the false start wasn't called. I'm glad the NFHS encroachment rule is what it is. I'm glad the Patriots won. I'm glad it's Friday. I'm not glad that it is 10 below zero outside.
