Noisemaker question
« on: October 13, 2015, 03:58:24 PM »
Sorry if I am bugging you guys, just like to study my rules book/mechanics & watch film.

Noisemaker question.

Small school, 2A, so it was a small stadium, stands are close to the field.

Every time Team A would line up to run a scrimmage play, a fan sitting on Team B stands - would blow a loud air horn, trying to time the snap.

It never caused a false start, but Team A HC asked the Ref to announce "do not use air horn during game play."

Thoughts?

Fans and their noises are outside of the jurisdiction of the officials.  They may have district rules but none of that falls on our shoulders to enforce.  Now, if it is the band, they do fall under our jurisdiction and there are rules that deal with them.

Next time you want to mess with the band, all you have to do is follow these easy steps.

1 stop for a moment, form a fully coherent and logical argument as to what you are going to say.

2 immediately discard it and dismiss any thoughts you have of interfering with their concert on behalf of your silly football game.

Band was at a Jr. High game today. The visitors complained about them playing while on offense. We asked the home coach to pass the message. The home coach asked how we could get them to stop altogether.  Good times.

Releasing balloons is prohibited? Wait, what?  Is this during a contest or before, during and after?
