Centralized Replay Officials
« on: June 11, 2016, 11:53:58 AM »
So, the NCAA decides to experiment in insanity.

SEC Headquarters, Birmingham, AL. Bubba the Love Sponge an avowed Alabama Fan, will be sitting in his Lazy Boy, Victory BBQue sauce running down his chin, guzzling a Pabst, wearing that stupid hat, waiting for the call from a misguided replay Official sitting at, say Ole Miss. Ole Miss just beat Bama the week before, a loss here against LSU could well doom any West Division Team from beating Alabama from going to the dance again. His decision determines the course of the season. Are you kidding Me!?

The SEC better get this straight. The other schools better jump on this now. The replay Official in Birmingham better not have any association with any school from the SEC. Not a degree, not a kid in school nothing. Otherwise this is nothing more than more of the "Good Ole Boy" crap the SEC is hated for. Yeah leave the door wide open for any semblance of impropriety.  ^no ^no ^no

Yes, all officials should be impartial. The current on-site replay officials should be impartial. Moving the on-site replay officials to the Main Office (or adding a second set of eyes there), shouldn't affect their restrictions on impartiality.

I'm not sure what Bubba has to do with this, since he's just watching the game at home and has no impact on anything...

I understand your general concern, but your slight paranoia has a giant [citation needed]. Is there any evidence that the Main Office review team is going to be held to a lower standard than on-field (or on-site) officials?

Sure --  this is just another pro-'Bama move.  It's not like they need any help.
