Interception, Hold in EZ
« on: October 10, 2017, 11:27:26 AM »
1/10, A-20.  B33 intercepts A's legal forward pass at the A-35 and returns the ball to the A-10 where he fumbles.  The ball then rolls into A's EZ.  While the ball is loose in A's EZ, B44 holds A67 in the EZ.  B33 then recovers the ball in A's EZ.

Apparent result of the play is a touchdown.

Basic spot is the end of the related run. Foul by the offense in advance of the basic spot, so enforce from the basic spot. Team B 1/10 A-20.

OK, now remove the fumble.  B33 returns the ball for an apparent TD and B44 holds in the EZ.

Again, basic spot is the end of the related run, which is now the goal line. Team B 1/G A-10. Rule 10-2-2-d-2-b.

Thanks, Kalle.  All rhetorical questions, but helping me think.

This just like the little school girl that helped the 'smart' kids by reading words to them for the spelling bee, then won the spelling bee herself because of the 'help' she gave the other kids.
These seemingly innocuous exercises are great for everybody.  Thanks for throwing these at us, TexDoc.

+1

I'm going to steal these for a set of tests I've promised to do for Finnish officials :)
