Few coaches in SW Ohio guilty of this. When the all state running back scores the 7th TD (team TD not his) coach is running up the score. One who was AD and football coach complained about his school being beat in other sports where the scores were run up by schools he ran up as football coach...

the two stories from AZ  & MO. Curious if those 2 states have mercy rules?

AZ goes to a running clock when there is a 42pt differential.

based on the coaches account of how they scored and who he was playing - and running the ball too, and the fact the clock was running, I'm not understanding how he could be allegedly accused of running up the score.

In Connecticut, if a team wins by +50 points, the coach will be suspended for one game. Only the opposing athletic director can offer a pardon.

MO does have a mercy rule.  We have running clock starting in Q3 if lead is greater than 35.  Clock only stops for timeouts, injuries, penalties and scores.  If lead is still greater than 35, clock does not stop for scores.

In the game in question, the winning team left their starting defense in the whole game and when one of their LB (D1 prospect) got injured with 3;11 left in Q3, the losing coach asked to end it.
