Texas Tech vs Baylor
« on: October 19, 2024, 04:21:50 PM »
Somewhere around 12:00 (2), Baylor punt receiver breaks for the goal line along the sideline. About the 3 yard line a Tech player wraps him up and pulls him to the ground out of bounds as they both pass the pylon. But, the BC is laying on the defender, not touching the ground at all, when his left foot just ticks the pylon. You can see the pylon wobble as the players then continue to slide and roll OB, when the BC finally is rolled over to the ground. The ruling on the field was a TD. After a full replay review, the ruling was changed to short of the goal line.
But, if the ball carrier is able to touch the pylon with his body or ball, then he gets the goal line extended. The ball was definitely beyond the goal line extended when his foot ticked the pylon. So, I am wondering why it was changed.

I don’t have any recording ability. Too cheap to pay for it.
