Ma' neighbor , Cooper Flagg, was just voted NBA Rookie of the Year. Cooper grew up 7 miles away in Newport, Maine. I live in Pittsfield,,, but only saw him once. That was when a 6'8" 13 year old freshman stepped of a ricketly ole' school bus waiving a trophy and yelling :"WE"RE CHAMPS>>>WE"RE CHAMPS"

His school had just beaten a school 3 times their enrollment for the State Championship. Flagg nearly outscored the opponents himself.
While Dallas was far from a powerhouse, Flagg lead the team in points, rebounds and assists. The last NBA rookie to accomplish that was a fellow named Michael Jordan

. While there has been a sprinkle of Mainers that have made it in MLB, NFL and NHL , to make the NBA ,will occur only once in a lifetime. I'm glad it happened in mine
