Another take from a former player:

Quote from: Nate Jackson in Slate
[The replacement officials] don't appear to be going anywhere anytime soon. Roger Goodell's negotiating tactics are like Kim Jong Il's. So is his ego. He'll keep squeezing the refs till they fit in his pocket, and the Goodellization of the NFL will be complete. Then he can get to work on his uranium-enrichment facility.

Just a point of correction to the drivel in that article(I've yet to read anything but that on Slate, but that's a diff discussion), when he keeps saying 'who's day job is reffing 6-man games' he is being grossly insipid and disingenuous. The article he is referring to with that statement never said his only experience is 6-man, which is what the author here is insinuating. What e official said in that article, which was to a home-town paper and to people who wanted to know his personal story, was that he likes to work 6-man because it keeps him grounded and reminds him of the honor of now working in the NFL. I don't find this any different than similar articles I read about Hochuli who mentioned he first started working as a peewee official. Is Ed a peewee ref for a living?
I think the replacements have done just fine so far. Sure, there are some hiccups and minor nervous moments, but in the short time they had to get organized, learn the ropes and go, I think it's admirable how solid they all are

Anyone else see the L on MNF winding the clock backward?
