4th & 10 @ 50 : (1) K1 punts ; (2) R1 roughs the kicker ; (3) Bouncing kick hits K2 @ R's 40 ; (4) R2 picks up ball and advances to 50 where he fumbles ; (5) K3 scoops up R's fumble and gallops for TD. You make the call........ Bonus point : This play caused a rule change approx 10 years ago. Anyone know which rule??

Foul on R, first touching by K.  K is NOT going to get a TD here.

Since K is going to accept the foul, the right of R to first touching is negated.  1st and 10 for K (now A) at the B/R 35.

If K were to decline for some odd reason, R would still have first touching rights, as there foul came BEFORE the first touching, and K still would not get a TD.

As for the bonus point, I'm going to GUESS 5-1-6 about when first touching is negated, but that's just picking one out of the air.

Great job, AB, as a special team coach, you certainly know your stuff! Sorry, no bonus point though - There used to be a rule & fundamental that stated on a touchdown, all live ball fouls against the opponents would AUTOMATICALLY be declined. This caused a dilemma in the above play as K would have to decline the penalty by rule and then R would get the ball at the spot of first touching by rule. Question for you : Will it be Braves vs Red Sox World Series??
