After an interception???
« on: September 09, 2013, 07:05:15 AM »
Ok fellas need help!

3rd and 8 for A at A35.  A12 drops back to pass and is picked off by D28 at the D 40.  The Defense gets the ball with clean hands.  On the return we have a block in the back by D63 at the A48.  Then on the tackle we have a 5 yard face mask by A72 at the A 38.   What is the proper penalty enforcement on this play???

Thanks

By "D" I'm assuming you mean "B."

Since B got the ball with clean hands, their options are: decline the penalty for A's foul and keep the ball, or accept the penalty, which results in a double foul, and we'll replay the down.

If B declines the penalty for A's foul, then enforce the IBB under ABO (and remember that once B gains possession, they become the offense. Enforce the 10 yards, set the chains, B 1/10 @ B42, clock on the snap.
