Washington vs Stanford live ball personal foul
« on: October 06, 2013, 12:51:36 PM »
This happened during the second quarter, I believe. On a punt, receiving team called for personal foul on a legal block. It appeared that it was at the point of attack, but I only saw it on replay. Would love to hear any comments and discussion on the call if someone could post video.

Not in the back, not below the waist, not obviously out of the play (in fact, obviously IN the play).... Perhaps they felt the contact was to the head. The blocker does raise his arm and shoulder as he follows through, so maybe that's what it looked like.

If that's the case though, they should have called it targeting and ejected him.

I could see how this could look like a blindside, high block, with a bit of launch and get a flag for targeting, which would presumably not have the DQ upheld by replay.
