Strange use of feet
« on: March 31, 2014, 10:44:06 PM »
I got two plays in which I'm having a hard time figuring out what to do

at 8:35 there is a FG try, the pressure gets in but player B sticks his foot in front of the ball right before it's kicked. Once the kick happens, the ball is blocked by player B's foot. Legal block? He didn't really kick the ball illegaly, in my opinion. Thoughts?

About this same play, another thing to consider is... the way player B gets in front of the ball. The way he sticks his foot forward. Could that be considered a foul of some sort? If he had hit an opponent player, what would be called? PF would be my guess.

Rule 2-11-5 does not require the blocking to be made with hands, so it can be made with feet. No foul. I'm hard pressed to imagine a situation where the action would be "striking an opponent with his foot".
