Question about a question
« on: May 06, 2014, 10:52:39 AM »
In the CFO West test, there is a question that reads:
Quote
Following penalty enforcement, the ball is marked ready for play at position five on the field...

I've never heard that term "position five." Is that a typo or, what does that mean?

It refers to the position of the ball on the field.  Position 1 is the PB hash, 2 is the PB goal post, 3 is the center of the field, 4 and 5 are on the other side.  This is the terminology used by the CFO, other groups may use different terms.

Thanks. I was figuring that was it but I could only think of three positions if using the hashes and center of the field. But it makes sense outside of the hash and inside.

When I umpire, I use an extra down indicator for my 5 fingers for those five positions.
