Training Help For 6 Man Mechanics
« on: August 29, 2014, 11:29:24 AM »
Does anyone know of a website that has a free or nominal price download of a football field and official characters with position placards that allows officials to be positioned on the field by position as a training aid in 6 man mechanics? Any help is appreciated.

If you have iPad, there is the CoachMe app that allows you to produce various formations, the defenses even have presets like 4-3, 4-4, etc.   For officials there is a striped shirt icon that can be used for multiple positions.  They will not indicate the different placards but how hard can 6 spots be to identify.  There is also a traffic cone icon that can be used.

The basic version is free.  The souped up version is modestly priced.

A couple of guys here have designed their own demonstration boards but they (or their sig others) have way better artistic skills than I.

Thanks.  We are going to 6 man mechanics but the state has not given any direction of what the mechanics should be.  We have looked at several, like Ga, La, and NJ, but are trying to get something together for the association so at least we are doing the same thing as a group. The only thing the state has decided is that we will use R, U, L, LJ, FJ, and BJ.  Most everything we see doesn't use the BJ but SJ, and duties are different.
