half shirt jerseys

I have noticed more and more half shirt jerseys lately.  Why is this being allowed when the rules state clearly that the jersey needs to be tucked into the pants and not altered?

For the same reason we don't worry about socks, knee pads and knees covered anymore. The tail wags the dog.

They're just worn pulled up. I make the kids pull them down if they want to keep playing on my field.

Some breeds of dogs routinely get their tails surgically clipped, for their own good.
