 Wvoref -arrived 1950 - with these rule changes : Permitted any player to recover and advance a backward pass or fumble. Kicking team prohibited from kicking beyond the neutral zone. Introduced the intentional pass interference penalty. South Carolina joined NFHS.

Riffraft - 1960 - with these rule changes : Officials required to use flags. Face protectors required.

SCHSref - 1973 - Included chin strap as part of required head protector. Authorized use of auxiliary down marker. New Hampshire joined NFHS, leaving Texas, Mass. and Connecticut (1979) still not members.

If this is the intended consequence of this rule change, I'm completely in favor.  Please advise

I'm saying Dan Marino  and Ben Roethesburger (sp ) . Both had excellent supporting casts.

The intendend consequence of the change was three-fold :
      (1) Correct the inequitable enforcement of one foul "halving the distance" (possible 60% of field).
      (2) Not creating a new series without moving the ball.
      (3) Simpler choices if after score.

Note : Any ejections or USC counts would still apply. An uneven number of DB fouls would still be enforced - examp... 2 DB fouls on A, 1 DB foul on B = A penalized 15.

Dan Marino only made it once, I think.  Rothlisberger sounds like a good guess to me.  Eli Manning for the other one?

No, Elway won one.  I cheated and looked it up - the other was Bob Griese.
