Unless he spit on me i would not nitpick looking for something like this. I would let the school administrators take care of this

The NCAA rule calls for disqualification for TOBACCO. There are non-tobacco snuffs out there.

Just so this will get on google and possibly be the alert for the DeSoto ISD (if they care), your head football coach was caught on TV multiple times using what appeared to be a tobacco product in direct violation of NCAA and UIL rules.

In addition to Texas Law.  From the Education Code:

Sec. 38.006.  TOBACCO ON SCHOOL PROPERTY.  The board of trustees of a school district shall:
(1)  prohibit smoking or using tobacco products at a school-related or school-sanctioned activity on or off school property;

I thought we had some incredible technology when I was working for a certain 3 letter agency.   But you fellas are able to do forensic testing and determine a substance is tobacco without even smelling it

Looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, but we are in church, so I am going to say the answer is Jesus.

What if a non-tobacco snuff smells like tobacco?  Do we take the word of the HC (or what if it was a player) saying it was non-tobacco?  As a non-user, I have no idea what non-tobacco smells like...if I see a guy dipping, I am assuming it is dip...not Big League Chew.
Coach: "I've been doing this 30 years!  I know the rules!"
Ref: "Are you married coach?"
Coach (suddenly offguard): "umm...yeah, why?"
Ref: "I've been married 30 years and my wife says there is still room for improvement"
Coach: "<silence>"

In Texas, you can enforce this (and be 100% right) and get scratched by DeSoto and all of the schools who's coach is a buddy with the Desoto HC when he tells them you are the sorry SON OF A GUN that turned him in.  What a great system!  And not only do we NOT stand up against it...we get on a public forum and say outloud that it might not be real snuff and mock the guy who would dare assume it was!  cRaZy

If you have ever been a member of THSCA then you know that NO rules apply to Texas football coaches. Especially when ethics are involved.

Ding ding ding.

And I find your name perfect for this topic (even if that's not what it means).

Enforcing this results in getting scratched / never picked again with the chapter secretary sending out an email to the group saying "While this is a rule, we expect our officials to use good judgment. Don't forget you can file a report with the UIL."

I can say with confidence that I am not concerned with what a coach puts in his mouth. I am watching the game and not policing tobacco usage.
